Beginning students will learn all adavus upto alarippu, and will be placed in classes according to their level. Students will receive practical and theoretical instruction in all aspects of dance, and in allied arts such as music and poetry.
Intermediate students study alarippu, jatiswaram, sabdam, and other short pieces such as kirtanam appropriate to the intermediate level. Students will receive practical and theoretical instruction in all aspects of dance, and in allied arts such as music and poetry.
Advanced students will learn varnam and other compositions such as padam and javali that complete their understanding of the margam repertoire. Students will receive practical and theoretical instruction in all aspects of dance, and in allied arts such as music and poetry. They will also study dance pedagogy and research.
Students will learn the art of layam and nattuvangam at the intermediate and advanced level. They will learn fundamental techniques and methods, with in-depth sessions on konnakol, teaching tala terminology, handling the talam (instrument), and jati creation.
