Anjana Anand

biography

Anjana Anand graduated from the Kalakshetra Foundation in 1998 with her four-year diploma in dance. She received her BA in music from the University of Chennai, MFA in dance from Bharathidasan University, and is a PhD candidate in dance at Bharathiyar University. An empanelled artiste with the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR, Delhi) and graded artiste with Doordarshan, she has worked in the research wing of Kalakshetra Foundation. She has served as dance faculty at Milapfest UK’s Dance India (2012, 2013) and as guest lecturer/performer/faculty in Dance India Asia Pacific (DIAP) for Milapfest Singapore (2015, 2016). Choreographic works include Kala Chakra (2011, 2013), a group choreography for International Dance Alliance (IDA); Nirmanika (2011) and Angkor (2014) for Apsaras Arts, Singapore; Sakhi (2011) and Fire and Ash (2015) for Dr Gowri Ramnarayan’s JustUs Repertory, and Ula (2014), a solo production for Chennai-based Natyarangam’s Dr S Ramanathan Endowment Day.
